Not putting rawr in your top 8 is a mistake. They're the most consistent team in the game over the last 6 months and run a very strong system that hasn't been affected by the updates.

Without a lot of change over the last few months bet on the teams that have a lot of practice in their system; StS and yes, even the hogs.

I'd want to put SpNv in my top 8, though I really have no clue how well they'll fare with the latest changes.

rawr has never been a guild that beats the best teams. However, the best teams have a chance to lose to shit guilds, as has often been the case. rawr never loses to shit guilds ever because the shit guilds just try to do what they do, just much much worse.

Based on the AT format, that gives them an enormous advantage, and is the reason why they've been winning so much. All they have to do is not lose and let the other top teams beat themselves.

Always good chances imo.

SpNv without a doubt. Always finished on top places, time for them to take gold. Hopefully lag, e7's wont stop them this time.

Remember, this is a thread listing your top 8 picks for GvG (and HB). This is NOT a Europe vs America or hexes vs balanced debate, or any other crap like that (I've already had to keep stuff like that off another thread earlier). If you don't like certain guilds, you can start your own thread about why you think those guilds are bad, or you can PM people arguing against you. Trolling and flaming in these threads are unwelcome.

Edit: Oh, looks like Moko ate all the posts. Beware. She's hungry today.

1. Dark Alley [dR]
2. Stealing Society [StS]
3. Rebel Rising [rawr]
4. Close Encounter [cE]
5. Supernova Japan [SpNv]
6. Storm Hogs [Sink]
7. You Failed [uF]
8. C A S T R A T I O N [SoaP]

I think I should put Town over dR because Kaon is simply amazing.

My biggest problem when making a list is that I have no idea how the American guilds will do against the assassinbuilds the Asians run at times (not SpNv and Hand lately, but Mistral Edge and some other still do). The obvious choices here are of course DF, dR and rawr. Maybe Town and xT, but sorry Kaon, if you play like yesterday you won't get near the top 16. Too bad the only guilds I ever see DF, dR and rawr playing against are guilds outside the top 200. The game didn't change that much tho, so maybe they will do well anyway.
Stealing Society has impressed me a lot in the beginning of the month, but the last week I hardly saw them. Best Before has some old names that bring back memory of long ago. Not sure what to expect from them. When I saw them they were experimenting with different builds, including the standard sinsplit. C A S T R A T I O N [SoaP] is currently one of the best European guilds. Other often heard names Storm Hogs and Close Encounter will probably do well too, if they show up (heard there are some doubts about the last). And then there are tons of other European guilds of which you will never know which one will do well until it is too late.
Last there are the Asians. Only see 3 guilds that I expect to get far. Mistral Edge runs sinsplit with some of the most odd mesmers you will ever see. Their Me/E is just great. SpNv has been running a 3 warrior build lately and seems to have some success with that. Not sure what they will run in the AT tho. HAnD usually does well too, with or without assassins. My best guess is that they take advantage of the lag and run their assassins against American guilds, since they never run it during their normal games.

I have nothing against you, i just like flaming americans. And to me it seems like dR's been failing since forever (eventhough i didn't know about all those errors).

Then again, what's up with running an e/d and a mo/w. BAD! When i look at american guilds i see all these weird builds, now i could be blatantly wrong but i think european guilds are WAY ahead of americans buildwise.

And this came as a surprise? At least I got 3 guilds in the top 8 right. 2 are going to end a bit too high tho. My other 5 are all between 9 and 17, so I didn't do bad at all.
